History was literally written in the former NZZ printing plant for more than 30 years. From 1989 until the end of June 2015, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung documented what was happening in the world there. Since September 2016, dine&shine has had the exclusive contract for the interim use of part of the building from Swiss Prime Site. Perfect for the launch of the new "Only Temporary" event format.
The aim of this project is to use vacant spaces as temporary premises for innovative culinary events. The focus is not only on high-quality cuisine in unusual locations, but also on an overall experience. A restaurant with an event factor. In other words: a roaming restaurant experience. A format that is not bound by buildings or borders and that can be found in the future with constantly changing content in exciting locations under the name "Only Temporary". www.onlytemporary.ch
In close collaboration with well-known chefs, decoration, event and marketing specialists, a concept was developed for the launch in the former NZZ printing works that showcased the premises like never before. An extraordinary overall experience was created, which, in addition to five courses of top-class cuisine, also combined pop-up stores, art and entertainment with host Midi Gottet to create an event spectacle.
The food creations in five courses took up the "print" theme in culinary terms. When creating the menu, we relied on the tried-and-tested team of chefs around our head chef, Kay Malsch-Spitzer, who has been at the head of the cooking team for over six years, and his sous-chef, Stephan Zeidler. Our team was also supported by renowned chefs such as Rolf Caviezel, Rolf Mürner and Claudio Schmitz.
For this project, we worked closely with the Zurich agency Gruber&Ianeselli, as well as with the event design agency Neuerdings and our technical partner Winkler.
